Canada loves the Oscars. On a per capita basis, searches for the Oscars in Canada even outpace the US. Over the past 90 days, Canadian searches for Steven Spielberg’s historical drama, Lincoln  and the musical epic Les Miserables have been neck-and-neck. However, heading into the awards ceremony on Sunday, searches for Ben Affleck’s Argo have jumped to the head of the pack.

The controversial Zero Dark Thirty and the dark comedy Silver Linings Playbook did not crack the top five searches.

Other front runners (according to Canadian Google searches):
Lead Actor - Bradley Cooper
Lead Actress - Jennifer Lawrence
Supporting Actor - Christoph Waltz
Supporting Actress - Anne Hathaway
Director - Steven Spielberg

I would like to thank the Academy and all those Googling Canadians out there who made this post possible. And my agent.
